Eight sided medal, with a raised figure in speed skating pose. Two circular rings are attached at the top which are probably meant to be attached with a ribbon or chain. US insignia in lower right side. Inscription across the front: "CHICAGO DAILY NEWS 1935 WESTERN OPEN INDOOR CHAMPIONSHIP". Engraving on back: "3RD PRIZE CLASS A 440 YD WOMEN".
