Description

Square shaped silver tray with rounded, raised and decorative edges. Canada's crest is centered above engraving. The engraving is as follows: "PRESENTED IN THE CONGRATULATION OF THE CITY OF TORONTO TO GUS RYDER IN RECOGNITION OF HIS SUSTAINED AND INESTIMABLE ASSISTANCE RENDERED AS COACH AND TRAINER OF MARILYN BELL THE YOUNGEST EVER ATHLETE EVER TO SWIM THE ENGLISH CHANNEL JULY 31ST 1955. " It has been signed by both the Mayor and City Clerk.
