Chuckwagon Driver
Kelly Sutherland, 12-time World Chuckwagon Champion, 12-time Calgary Stampede Champion, and 9-time Ponoka Stampede winner will be joining us at Canada’s Sports Hall of Fame. The Grand Prairie, Alberta native is the most decorated veteran of his sport. He will be discussing his early years, the transformation of the sport over 50 years and the horses that make it possible to perform in this unique sport. Kelly is passionate about spreading the word and propelling Chuckwagon racing forward. His ability to capture media attention made him one of the most recognizable figures in the sport. When he retired in 2017 after competing for 50 years, it was considered the end of an era.
