Canada’s Sports Hall of Fame Mourns the Loss of J. Trevor Eyton (1934-2019),
Honourary Lifetime Governor of Canada’s Sports Hall of Fame

Canada’s Sports Hall of Fame mourns the loss of Honourary Lifetime Governor, the Honourable J. Trevor Eyton who passed away on Sunday, February 24, 2019. Canada’s Sports Hall of Fame’s mission is to share the stories of our Hall of Famers so that their legacy is never forgotten. Eyton personified this mantra in his nearly two decades of work with the Canada’s Sports Hall of Fame.

Senator Eyton served as a Governor of Canada’s Sports Hall of Fame from 1996-2010 including the Chairman role from 1996-2008. He provided dedicated leadership through the years of transition when the organization and its extensive collection moved from Toronto to Calgary and was awarded the rare distinction of Honourary Lifetime Governor in 2014. With his dedicated work to various charities, Trevor Eyton’s legacy will live on for generations to come.
