Hall of Famer ROSS B. CRAIG

Ross Craig began football in his hometown of Peterborough, Ontario, before continuing on with Dundas, Hamilton Rowing Club, Hamilton Alerts, and the Hamilton Tigers. Hulky and hard hitting, he starred from 1906 until 1920 as a lineman who carried the ball and who scored consistently. His tremendous power made him a devastating force under the rules of his time which offered little running room. Craig played with the Grey Cup champion Alerts in 1912 and, the next year, scored a record three touchdowns for the Hamilton Tigers in the 1913 Grey Cup - a record matched only by Lionel Conacher and not again for 40 years. He was inducted into the Canadian Football Hall of Fame in 1964 and is an honoured member of Canada's Sports Hall of Fame for his remarkable strength and unwavering ability to score in each game he played.
